For those that think bolt actions are too slow

The furthest shot I've ever taken was 381 yards and 3.5X was enough to do the job with precision.

As for the young man in the video, I can work a bolt as fast as him and I consider myself to be an excellent shot with a rifle but if I had to attempt what he was doing so well there would have been an awful lot of pigs running away untouched. That man is a truly excellent marksman.

You wanna badge or a chest to pin it on ???

Still dont get why these vids are posted or how they relate to the original video?

I'm no sharpshooter, but I pick my shots and if my gun goes bang a deer goes down (knock on wood). Most of the running deer I've shot have been the result of one aimed but quick bang-flop, before I've even had time to think.

So I'm wondering if anyone else here can relate to the following experience. On a few occasions when I've shot running deer, it was as if everything went into slow motion.

For example, during my 2010 season I'd downed a running buck with 1 shot and then turned my attention to a 2nd buck that was going hard from right to left. I thought my aim was concentrated, but 2 quick shots had no effect. And that's when it got wierd. Time suddently seemed to slow to a crawl. I now felt as if I had all the time in the world to firmly fix my crosshairs on the buck's shoulder. Even before I squeezed the trigger knew I had him. The buck crumpled at my shot.

I guess you'd call this "being in the zone". All I know is that after it happens, I feel like I need a cigarette, and I don't even smoke!:D

 Shooting a bit left maybe ....Wow the Deer around here arn,t like that at all , I cant believe it just stood there

I had a s**tty day like that once, got back to the truck and found my scope base was loose DOH!!!!!

My best shooting was 3 for 3 on two coyotes and one deer flushed out of a slough, with a fin m91 7.62x54 no less. I often shoot running gophers with a .22lr too... but that doesn't count. I have a savage le2b in .308 that I regularly connect with coyotes out to 400+yards... but be damned if I can hit them running with it.
