I've been using this Hobart for about 20 yrs. Countless moose and deer, never let me down.

We have a Waring Pro MG100 which was about five years old when given to us about 8 years ago.
Came from a hard core hunter so I know it was used every season before we got it.
Used every year since. Likely about $99 new way back when..

Now it 'IS' noisy, (as in I wear ear protection when grinding 20+ lbs), it takes its time and a gentle pressure on the plunger is required, but works well for fine or medium grind. I always take the time to shave off all the silver skin, no tendons, and cut the meat into about 1" square strips when practical, and almost freeze the cut up meat before feeding into this grinder.

For my wife and I and the volume of meat we grind - works like a charm!

I bought a brand new Waring 'Pro', and it made it about ten minutes before it ate the corners off the drive spline at the connection to the main body.
On the other hand, I paid $15 at a garage sale for an older version Princess Auto grinder, that truly sounds like it has live (very unhappy) cats stuck in the gearbox. But despite the noise, it has been a trooper of a working tool.

If it dies, I am going to order something from Halford's Mail Order and be done.

And, I fully agree with the sentiment that a grinder is not a sausage stuffer, despite that they will happily sell you or include stuffing tubes. There is no speed control, and the meat will get churned around into paste, which makes a pretty crappy sausage.

As an aside, I have a butcher near me, Grassy Lane Meats near New Sarepta, Alberta, a 20 minute drive from my home in Sherwood Park, Alberta. In the 52 years I have been hunting, his product is the best I have had, I normally have salami, smokies and breakfast sausage made, half pork and half game meat. Worth a try if you are looking for a really good processor, extremely clean facility and you get your own meat back, no mixing. In the event you are local and looking for an honest butcher and great product.
