nice hat and flannel :D
One of da boyz ( Hornhead) brought the hat up from the south when they came up to hunt last year.
He figured it would match my flannel shirts which I like to wear.
I have vowed to wear it whenever possible for hunting.
Some know the demise of my favorite Stetson, but it is just too painful to repeat here ( sides hurt even thinking about it!)

Mine was nothing as special as some posted here, I popped a Rabbit with a .223 50gr hp.. It had been snowing and when I gave it to him everything through the 'scope went red! 50 yards and caught him under the armpit (barely visible entry) but on turning him over... What a mess- bigger than fist size hole, bulged eyes, front leg hanging off my a thread, stillbeating heart on the outside as were all the intestines. The .223 instantly killed and gutted him for me!
Great meal that night.

Although not HUGE by any means, my .338 win mag continues to amaze, Just got my spring bear. 270m shot, 250gr nosler partition. Bear did not even jump, I though I missed shot. It made it 10 ft into bush and dropped. In one side and right out the other. Through and through in 350 lbs bear.

Got a ground squirrel with a 185 grains XTP 44 Magnum.

Surprisingly, it went right through with little expansion, I was disappointed.

Yesterday I shot 3 gophers with my 45-70 Marlin 1895GS rifle. The first two I shot in the head with 300gr Hornady HP's @ 73 and 47 yards respectively and the 3rd one was @ 28 yards and was cut in 1/2 with a 405gr Bullet Barn FNGC hard cast bullet.

Well it was fun shooting gophers with a 58 caliber black powder and saboted buffalo bullets.

BOOM --------- wait while smoke clears -------- find wet red spot - nothing left but eyeballs and @$$ hole

I watched my wife shoot a squirrel with a 20 guage at about 4 feet. There was a fleck of red the size of a cornel of corn left. I don't know where the rest of the squirrel went.

Partridge hunting years ago, 3 buddys with 3 inch 1 7/8 magnums incase of geese. 9 shots at a porcupine at 15 yards. Same said buddys with same said shots at a 4 inch maple tree. The tree had no required no follow up shots. The scene still chills me to this day. Disgusting sap everywhere. Haunting!
