.277 SIG Fury 140 gr. bullet, 3,000 fps, 16" barrel, 80,000psi

May even be able to neck the .277 suck out of it, to .284?
R.
A .270 WSM matches or exceeds that spec, at 20kpsi less pressure.
I'll follow this closely. If the commercial equivalent is just as good (I have my doubt but one can hope.), it might be my next cartridge and firearm. Over 3000 FPS in a 16'' barrel sounds awesome!
I wonder what a 270 WSM with a 16" barrel would clock for velocity?
Other than firing some, I don't know much about belt fed machine guns. I wouldn't be surprised if the case shape of the WSM would be troublesome to work on a belt fed, there may be a specific length to case diameter required to properly fit the links.
With that cartridge and barrel length, there will be a lot of muzzle jump.
