For those who think double rifles can't be accurate....

I have been thinking that I should upgrade to a FireDot or other illuminated reticle on these rifles for low light and dark timber hunting...or should I ever get a chance for, or can afford, a leopard hunt!
I am going have to look that model of yours up. (I'm intrigued at the versatility it would offer for either of my rifles mentioned, particularly the 376.)
 
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone saying double barrel rifles like this can’t be accurate. It’s more the practicality that’s arguable.

Yes there is a huge difference in affordability and practicality but I don’t think anyone here has said otherwise. But cost does have a huge roll in practicality.

It is a beautiful rifle and most of us own rifles that weren’t exactly the most practical. I know I’m not alone when I say this but I know some rifles just give us that warm fuzzy feeling and that justifies the extra weight/cost/sacrificed durability/inefficient cartridge/long or short bbl or whatever the handicap may be (NOT speaking of this rifle I am speaking of any rifle in any safe that was purchased for reasons other than practicality). I guess if practicality was all that mattered most of us would own a stainless synthetic -06 or maybe 300win mag. But where’s the fun in that

Double rifles, combo guns and drillings are usually very accurate. The actual barrel thickness notwithstanding, the whole assembly of the barrels together makes an incredibly stiff package that is conducive to accuracy.
 
I for one bought my double rifle for exactly the practically of it. Its a Russian baikal in 4570. Therefore if I scratch it oh well. If I wear the blue off the barrels from carrying it for miles on end it just adds character. If I cant stop what I want to kill in 2 quick shots I can use it as a club. It makes a decent paddle as well. It always goes off whether its wet or covered in mud or dust. Seems impervious to muskol. Doesn't shoot quite as well as the beretta posted but when I first got it itshot extremely well with yellow and green box rem super slow loads it was factory regulated to. I've changed the loading and the regulation so its about on par with the posted beretta but at 30 yards not 100. I bought it for black bear hunting and baiting and tracking any wounded bears my buddies my have had. For that purpose there's nothing better or more practical. My main shotgun of choice for 10 years was built on nearly identical frames so shooting my double 4570 is completely thoughtless

The only gun that could come close to it in actual use for what I use it for would be my 1301 comp but the 4570 offers the extra range if needed

So yes doubles can be accurate and practical.
