It would seem that my sporter is a Custom #4, since it has the fancy walnut with the contrasting grip and fore-end caps. It has a Weaver V1.5-4.5 scope in an S&K mount, replacing the military peep sight, but also has a blade foresight on a sporter-type ramp. Would the scope mount be original, or would it have come with the LE peep sight? There is no mid-barrel rear leaf sight.

Also, would you know where to look for a front sight hood to replace the missing original?

Many thanks again!

There was another company that did a sporter calling it a custom #4 ,they were in Quebec, cant remember the name right now.
If yours was a PH custom#4 it would not have the S&K mount because there would be no place to attach it after PH did this to the action..

Also there would be a mid barrel sight .The custom 4's came with the BA29 side mount scope base ,note the three holes on the side of the reciever.
Is the front of your stock rounded or wedge shape?

I have a complete PH front ramp/hood assembly for sale right now.It requires two holes to be drilled and tapped for mounting.

My rifle has the fancy stock with the wedge-shaped forend and Monte Carlo butt, but it has just a plastic butt plate an no rubber pad. The action is unmodified and can still use the original LE peep sights. The barrel is finely bued, with no dovetail for a leaf-type rear sight.Could this be a special-order P-H custom No. 4, or is it maybe some type of parts gun? I like it anyway.

What is your price on the sight assembly, or should this be discussed elsewhere? Many thanks!

Does your gun have Parker hale stamped anywhere on it?It is possible that someone could have stuck a custom#4 stock on a supreme #4 although I think all the custom stocks had a recoil pad.The metal on yours matches the description of a supreme#4.post a pic

pm on the way...

I dont claim to know all the PH models,I can only go by the old adds I have collected and guns I have seen. There very well could be different variations out there that were from the factory that were less numerous.
