If I had to pick one of the two it'd be the first one, the G23. I suspect that the cost to do the artwork and gold gilding would be enough to feed my family for a few months so I don't think I'd be rushing out to have it done on my G17......

I like the etching on the slide in picture #2, I can't say I agree with the colour choice haha. A plain black slide with etching like that would be an after market piece I'd consider. Maybe it could make the beast into a beauty?
