For you SR-22 owners

I second what pavement surfer has to say about the Nomad/Marauder.... I built one as well, and with a 12.5" Dlask barrel, it'll out shoot any other 10/22, or SR-22, anyday. And surprisingly, It doesn't feel all "plasticy" like one would think, as its built out of a super tough polymer..... And the folding stock is very atrong and lockup is excellent, and wobble free. I chose to go with a G36 to M4 stock adapter and M4 type adjustable stock, to keep it legal with the 12.5" stock.
And to address the .22 ammo question, well i've tried every type mentioned through out the thread, except CCI Stingers. And I've found Winchester Dynapoint/Dynapoint GT to be the HANDS DOWN best performing ammo in both my 10/22's! The Marauder and my SS 10/22 with hammerforged .920 barrel. They feed excellent, and are cleaner than Blazers IMO, as they are coated. And they group much better than all the others listed, at least for me. I can't understand why others arn't having the same experiences with it, as its not just one of my 10/22's that likes them....

And to Vader1, thats a ProMag AA9/22 with the sleeve on it he's using. They are the only "weak link" on the Nomad/Marauder platform IMO.... Once there broken in, they can work fairly well, but getting them there can be trying....

Well I've had my pall and r-pal for a month now. Reason was to get and only get a hunting rifle. Picked up a weatherby vanguard series 2 in .270 win and a red field scope in 3x9.
Unfortunately the hunting rifle gets hot after a couple rounds and I was getting quite bored waiting for it to cool at the range.
I really wanted a s&w 15-22 but did not as I wanted non restricted! So I picked up a sr 22 local for 549 with the threaded barrel! I'm really having trouble finding a flash suppressor!
Anyways I bought a tAsco scope from cabelas that was quite poor in the end and turns out was defective! I turned it back in for a Simmons rimfire scope with a adjustable ao. Much prefer it in 3x9.
My top screws were loose and did not know until AFTER the scope was zeroed. I've tightened them up but have not lock righted them yet as I just got my tuffer buffer in.
The biggest problem with any scope on the sr22 is with height. With the tallest rings I could find it is just so damn uncomfortable looking into that scope. Just picked up a riser off eBay for 15.00 that raises it an inch and has mounting picatinnys on both sides.
Overall love the gun. Have not figured out best ammo yet. Federal seems to work way better than Winchester so far. But I just picked up 7 different small boxes to try out.
I don't think I'm bored with the sr22 yet...... But my s&w m&p 22 lr pistol showed up in mail Friday. Want to use it pretty bad but Canada day long weekend got in the way!
I dont like to send business away from the sponsors, but Iron Eagle Tactical out of the states has a few different flash suppressors, and almost everything on their web site is for the SR22. They do ship to Canada, I found shipping to be very fast, and I have been very pleased dealing with them.
I use a surplus to my needs Tasco Varmint 2.5-10x 42mm Mildot (with Burris X-high tactical rings) on my SR22 and this works excellent for quick, consistent holdover corrections.
I put the Dlask rails on the top and bottom of mine and torqued all these along with the dress kit screws/barrel block screw. This allows me to run an airsoft foregrip which is really nice to hold all day long, or simply use as an elevated rest.
As the scope sits the objective clears as does the back with a credit card thickness to the front rail and that rear sight, respectively.
The front ring is on the front Dlask rail and the rear ring on the Ruger receiver rail, which further tightens the gun up when everything is torqued down. Yes, it likely puts stress on the scope that probably isn't good, but pffft -for a $100 scope on a .22 who cares. I've stripped the gun down, taken the scope with rings off, and put it all back on and didn't lose minute-of-gopher so was very happy.
One mod I highly recommend as well is the automatic bolt release. Look on youtube for instructions on how to do yourself, or just order a kit from volquartsen. Makes life a whole lot easier with a 10/22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yY3BFyknLzo&feature=related
My only complaint with the SR22 is what everyone else says: you need to locktight and properly (not excessively) torque the screws down or they eventually loosen off. The problem is the aluminum dress kit and the steel receiver having different expansion rates when the gun heats up.

If you are going to buy (and IMO you should) a 3rd party trigger group (like this one http://www.hornetproducts.com/), the automatic bolt release is a part of it.

P&D has/had the flash suppressors in stock when I bought mine. The ring height on mine seems fine, again bought from P&D.
No, I don't have personal experience with that trigger group yet - I just ordered it, it shipped a couple of days ago. But I've seen good comments about it. We'll see.
Be sure you get the riser for the scope someone mentioned above. Even with high rings the scope is way too low.
