So I’ve recently put an express barrel (up to 3.5”) on my wingmaster (2”3/4).
It got me thinking of shooting shorter shells in a gun chambered for larger.
I know it’s dangerous to shoot a larger shell in a smaller chambered gun as the opened shell partially obstructs the forcing cone and will increase pressures in the chamber.
But what about the opposite? Are there any disadvantages to the pattern having a shot charge partially expand past the open shell until it hits the forcing cone?
