form 6 time line ??

A bit of AFT Form 6NIA information.

http://www.losttarget.com/form6.html

All the links are current.

I do my best to keep the page up to date.

They have surge periods and best to apply several months in advance, but many have seen quick service. It has been done in 72 hours, but not the norm.

If you go longer than two months, you need to be on the phone...

I advise you apply with a state side hunting license as that gives you the most flexibility. That option is used by most snow birds. Shoot invitations can be used, as well as letters from national organizations such as the ATA.

I plan to shoot down in the USA this year and applied for my form 6 from the ATF quite a while back and have not received anything ?? Anyone else that shoots down there know of the time line for this form ???

I submitted my application on April 22nd,just received my approval in the mail today!

I've had better luck using the fax number

Imports Branch
Fax: (304) 616-4554

If you use the fillable PDF form on the losttarget site (which in IMO is the best way to go about it), it's better to hand write your return fax # as large as you can get it in the alotted space. The font on the fillable does not come through well on that column when you fax it to the ATF. If they can't make out your fax number they rarely will try to track you down for the correct fax number.

Phone them up with questions, they're usually good about helping you if you call and explain your problem.

http://www.losttarget.com/form6 is the place to go.
