Form F 6NIA (US import form) time to approval? Hunting US in March.

Get an Alaska small game license online for $20 IIRC, if you don't have the license for your hunt yet.
Fax this and the completed 6NIA form to BATF and they'll fax you back the approval within 2-3 weeks. That's what my experience was last year.

It has been posted here on CGN that the requirement for a hunting licence or official invite to a shooting competition has been dropped. It still says you need it on the 6NIA form but the form hasn't been updated yet.

Just received mine this afternoon... 4days.
Well, 3 days really because I faxed it in Tuesday night.

No hunting lic.
No match invites.

Just leave those sections of the app blank.
Section 'h'' just write in n/a for your non restricted (non registered) guns

my last one didn't get emailed and it added an extra week or so....few days me being patient and a few more for them to actually email it.

I have been applying for the Form 6 now for eleven years, and it usually takes about ten to fourteen days. I faxed mine on Monday night, and got the approved form back on Friday... four business day. WOW!

I hazard to guess that once you're "in the system" approvals go pretty quick...
My first F6NIA several years ago did take a few weeks, but after that initial approval they've always been very quick.
The new fax in/email back system really speeds it up too.

I've even has a couple of occasions where I needed an amended permit on very short notice where they've managed to get me an approval in a matter of hours...

Just received my approved permit via fax. My first time took 4 days. Still have to find out if Washington requires a hunting permit at the border.

I would make sure you have either a valid hunting licence or an invite to a registered shoot. The Alaska Non Res SG licence is only $20, and you can buy it on-line. What I normally do when I get to the border is I hand the Custom Agent my passport and form 6. I don't give him anything else unless they ask. More times than not they don't ask for your hunting licence or your invite.

Probably get a Tennessee hunting license since that'll be my destination. Just incase I get pulled over along the way. Not sure what every states transport laws are
