Former Beretta 92 owners, what did you move on to and why?

I'm a current owner - It's the first pistol that I purchased and still part of my rotation when it's range time. One of the easiest pistol to field strip, good ergonomics, 3 dot sight easily visible and fairly accurate out of the box.
Really? I seem to recall seeing one in the 2nd place spot at the 2011 IPSC world shoot.
I love my beretta 92G, it's my first handgun and i don't think i'll sell it one day. It's the kind of gun you want in your safe, sometime you get bored of shooting polymer and you need a steel pistol... It's a classic, it's ###y and nothing looks like beretta (except beretta clones).
Not a deal breaker for me....punching holes in paper isn't really affected by slide safety's..I'm finding the ambi safety on my .40 omega is more problematic...I like a high grip and my thumb keeps setting it.....must train harder....and the beretta on is down...can't make that happen by accident....imho.
If the Girsan is to big for your hands so is the Berettta Centurian or 92fs because the Girsan Yavuz and the Beretta are essentially the same gun in every respect. The former is made on equipment installed and supplied by Beretta in Turkey. The Girsan I have has a thinner grip than my Sig 226 Mke 25 and about the same as my CZ75B. I am no Beretta fan boy but I have to admit the Girsan did surprise me....a lot. Not enough to pull me away from my CZ/M&P guns for playing the games but still I do now have a better appreciation for the Beretta design..

I'm a new shooter with an italian 92FS as my first pistol. I'll probably add a revolver to the collection (S&W 686 probably.), but I'm in no hurry to get rid of the Beretta. It's a little big for my hands, but not too much of an issue. I may try some different grips. I'd also like to shoot a 1911, CZ SP01, and a P226, all of which felt pretty good in my hand.
I have two beretta's. 92fs Inox and a 92a1. I like a1 better but their basically exactly the same. Nice guns and shoot well and they're not 'knock-offs' (lol). Those were my first guns (thanks Bruce Willis). Easy to clean and maintain, and once you figure out where you need to put your finger on the trigger so it doesn't 'pull', you're good to go. Lots of fun...Then I shot a 1911 in 45. 9mm can suck it. I don't regret owning beretta's as I do take them to the range from time to time but it doesn't even compete with shooting a 1911 (at least to me). The grip is perfect and the trigger is sweet. I love shooting a 1911 in 45 over everything else.
I'd suggest you try one of those first...

I am on the fence about trading my PX4 for a 92FS
Do it if you like the Beretta line. There really is no comparison between the two. The 92 family is at a different level.

I am definitely a Beretta fan boy and i've been down the comparison path when I originally purchased the PX4. It's a great pistol, but I ended up with more 92/96 mags for my CX4.
I know the CX4 can take PX4 mags. I have the unopened magazine insert to do it and that was my original intention. Although because of the extra capacity with 96 mags (14 9mm vs 10), I've stuck with the 92/96 insert. PX4 mags cost more and not sure if the 40 cal mags for the PX4 are proven to be reliable as the 92/96 series. Not sure where to go from here.
I have the CX4 in 9MM as well and use the Beretta mags. I hope your PX4 has a better trigger than the CX4 which is about the worst trigger I have ever encountered.
That said what are you trying to accomplish? The 92 series is certainly a great platform and I am sure you know that. I have never shot or held a CX 4 so I really have nothing much to say about the gun. As I have already mentioned in an earlier post on this thread if you do decide to go with the 92 FS take a look at the Girsan as well. I am really impressed with the fit and finish on the gun and it sells for about $200 less than the Beretta. Something to consider.

I couldn't shoot my 92 accurately so I traded it for a Glock. That was worse, until I gave it an honest workout. Now it's one I shoot well.
If I paid as much attention to the 92 as I did the Glock, I may have learned to shoot it well too, and kept it.

I am simply trying to standardize on a pistol + pistol caliber carbine (CX4) using the same mags. I really like the idea of sharing the same magazine for a number of reasons. This should be a no-brainer with the CX4 +PX4 compatibility, but my dilemma is the fact that I have several 92/96 mags and only two PX4 mags. And also the fact that the 96 mags accept 14 rounds. So for that reason and the fact that the 92FS has seriously grown on me, I am considering a straight up trade.

Sights can be changed...
Do you shoot south of the border? If not I don;t understand the fascination for 14 round mags. Go for the trade if you can find one.

yup, once, and now Ben shoots a Tanfo. I have a Beretta that lasted to 150+ rounds, but it was not a competition gun, and it's extremely rare for them to get that high. Aluminum framed guns die much quicker than steel or even polymer frame guns.
