Forster case trimmer question?

I just bought a used Forster Original case trimmer off of Ebay and discovered that it wont trim 7.62x54r. I need to use a #5 collet for 7.62x54r and that means I need a Classic Forster trimmer. My question is could I fit the collet housing off of a Classic trimmer to my original trimmer allowing me to use a #5 collet and trim 7.62x54r cases, or do I need to by a complete Classic trimmer?
 
I can't offer a direct answer to your question, however I can suggest that whenever I needed parts and/or advice about any Forster products, I contacted them directly...immediate responses to my emails and always easy to deal with....not to mention quality products

Made in China products for ya.....
 
Same trimmer. Same problem. Called Forster and they sent me a custom collet and housing for the 7.62x54r. At a cost ofcourse but with quick turn around and excellent service as usual.

Theres no problem with the trimmer, its that the model I bought is designed for collets 1-4. If I understand there site correctly I need there larger trimmer designed for collete 5-8 to trim 7.62x54r. My only question is, is there a way to fit the Forster original case trimmer to use the larger collets or do I need to buy the Classic model trimmer.

Yes you need both the collet and a new housing (the piece that screws on and holds the collet in place). The new housing has a slightly enlarged opening to accept larger casings such as the 7.62x54r.
