Forster Co-Ax press - opinions please

I Use one, had two foolishly sold the second one. The priming feature works superbly once you get it centered. the universal shell holder works very well, and the loaded shells come out very consistent. I find the bullets are loaded very consistently and there is very very little variance from bullet to bullet when concentricity is checked. Excellent press. I won't use anything else. just wish I had two

Ordered directly from U.S. shipping was no issue.

I got it for one main reason, you adjust the die lock ring once and for all
switch die and calibers in seconds and no adjustments to do anymore

I will never change it for something else

ps. I dont use the priming device, I use a hand priming tool

Great question, thanks for posting it. I'm booked in at Milcun to take their 2 day reloading course this weekend, and will be ordering a bunch of gear as soon I am done. From the research I've done the Co-ax is at the top of my list.( at least so far. let's see what's posted here)

I have two Forsters; one more or less permanently adjusted for 45-70. This caliber uses the large jaws, which are an option. The second press is for "other", mostly rifle. Adjustment of the "jaws" is relatively simple. If you buy a new one you will get a centering device which allows for you to hold a deprimed cartridge in place while you adjust the 3 tabs to hold the cartridges in perfect alignment for priming. Forster also makes a priming tool ($100) which is similar and very effective and quick for "hand" priming. The priming device on the press is more than adequate for small numbers of casings.

I'd buy lock rings by the dozen, perhaps getting 24 up front. You will use them eventually and they can be easily sold, as can the press ( if you lose your income or your mind).

The press can be easily taken to the range if you want to try out various loads.

If I had to let my presses go, it would be the Dillons to go first; as much as I love them. The Forster Co-ax press is worth every penny you pay for it.

Cheers!

excellent press. Bought mine from midway usa. very strong design, very easy to use, very reliable. Buy one, don't look back. Lock rings by the bag is an excellent suggestion if you reload more than one caliber.

I agree it's the best press and love mine. Even the US Marine competition team use it. I saw it in a documentary.

It has the following advantages:
-primer catching system
-shell holding system
-fast easy die switching
-floating alignment
-mechanical advantage

I finally got around to getting a Co-Ax, wish I had done that long ago. I ordered mine from the US, freight was a bit high, but still saved over 100.00 from what they are up here. I also splurged and got the 21st Century conversion priming tool for the old round Lee hand primer. That was worth every penny also.

Sorry to bring this topic back up but does anyone know what the shipping price is lie on one of these from the US? Also did you happen to get hit with taxes at the border?

Thanks

Call the Sinclair number. They will tell you what the shiiping costs are going to be. Add the taxes and surcharge Canada Post will nail you with and you have your final number. I had a few purchases shipped up from Sinclair the last being a Thumbler's tumbler and found it to very reasonable.
Just make sure it is shipped by the postal service. UPS is a definate rip off for the customs fees.
