Fort Colounge

Lots of crown land but busy as hell,to many idoits staking there claim to crown land, low moose numbers but deer can be decent.I`ve hunted deer about 30 miles from there, good deer hunting but most land is private. If you are a nonresident licenses can be costly

I was down in that area for canoe charters, watch out for toll roads in the middle of nowhere! Chemin de Bois Franc, to be exact.

well i camp at jims lake and do hunt the area for grouse and rabbit and yes there is deer and moose if u go farther up i have never seen a toll rd lots of coyote and wolves and definatly lots of trappers

Lots of nice deer, but also lots of poachers, jacklighters, pot growers. The locals all think they own the Crown Land. The area does not have a good reputation for treating outsiders with respect.

ya ive noticed that there is alot of pot growers and people think they own the crown land but ive made some friends so i shouldnt have too much of a problem, lots of grouse if you know where to look.

I got a nice deer buck from there in 2012. Dont forget your blaze orange vest, lots of hillbilly have a tendency to shot before looking wath's moving.

Other than that, it's a nice place to hunt, not too far from ottawa.
