As mentioned in a previous thread, my dog moon and I have just returned from the rondyvous at Fort McMurray. As in previous years, Thor and the others of the Hanging Stone Ravens club put on an excellent rondy. It lasts for 6 days with 2 events every day. The shooting is about evenly split between (several) trails through the bush and gong shoots on the formal range. Mid week we had an excellent pot luck supper. There were 9 primitive camps and at a guess 10 or 15 camps in tin town for a total of around 45 shooters. Weather was hot and sunny until nearly the end when we had several heavy showers; fortunately they were short lived. There was a subtle presence of mosquitos after the showers, I should note, but they were bearable. My shooting was terrible but I enjoyed myself just the same. Almost forgot; there were 10 or 12 shooters from BC, 1 from Saskatchewan and the rest from Alberta.
I have tossed in a few photos from the trip including a picture of moon inspecting some strange dwarf hobbits from Lilloette. Also included a picture of a canola field; quite striking because there were numerous fields in bloom all across western Alberta.
