Hey folks,

Just looking for some wisdom here. Been collecting tools for a while to do a barrel and handguard swap on my Modern Hunter (AR-10 style barrel nut if I am not mistaken). I slide my DPMS barrel nut wrench on to take off my fortis barrel nut, and it is slightly too big to properly fit into the barrel nut... It fits fine in the one I will be replacing it with (DPMS barrel nut). What type of wrench will fit this bloody thing? I am currently using a Precision reflex DPMS/KAC nut wrench 03-0086.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I didn't take pics as words seem to get the issue across well enough.

You will need the Fortis Mfg. barrel nut spanner wrench. Almost every AR15 "specialty" handguard has their own sort of barrel nut. Usually the maker will include a flat sheet steel crows foot (for a torque wrench), but since you got the MH from ATRS, it appears they didn't include it. Or maybe they buy the rails OEM in bulk so no accessories.

In any case, I would give ATRS a call or Email and ask if they have a spare Fortis wrench laying around, or if you can buy one.
