So my Stag Arms AR-15 is on the way, I ended up at the last minute changing my order from the 2R to the 2T-R so I could attach a forward grip.

Now I have no Idea what kind of grip brand to get or where to get it. Any help would be appreciated especially if you can tell me where to actually buy the item.

Thanks in advance.

Tango Down, no question

I had a UTG grip my buddy tried on his rifle it was a POS and he threw it out, some people have good luck with them, some don't, they're cheap for a reason. The Tangodown will be quality, but more expensive.

Personally I prefer the Tango Down QD vertical fore grip, however if you have small hands you may find it too thick (like my gf says!!!!!!), GG&G and Knights are good grips and a bit thinner. Tango Down makes the regular length and a stubby. I know Dave's Surplus carried TD for awhile, not sure who does now, maybe Wolverine or Questar?

Make sure you push it as far forward on the rail as possible, gives you more stability and steadier shots.

I prefer the Troy grip. It's aluminum and you can do two different sizes, stubby and regular with the same unit. It's priced comparably with the TD.

I have a Larue FUG, which is great. Unfortunately, not easy to come by. Haven't handled the Troy, but it should be good just like their other stuff. I've been trying various configs of grips and positions on the rail, and finally settled on the method suggested in the Magpul DVDs. Get a stubby and use it as more of an index point.

+1 on both the Troy and LaRue grips, I still prefer TD because it has the cutout for either Insight or Surefire tailcap switch (you have to specify when ordering), TD along with Otis makes a small cleaning kit designed to fit in their forward grip.

Wolverine supplies, P&D enterprise, target sports center, and TSE have tango down products. I got my stubby FDE VFG from target sports. Cost me 88.00$ something shipped. Great grip, its a bit tight but its normal. remember to use the zap straps that come with it, its gonna save you some fingers and elbow grease.
