Agreed, a forward handgrip is just not very practical.
Not to mention I don't like any part of my hand going past the end of the muzzle. That's why the HK MP5k has a little guard at the end so your hand doesn't accidently go foward.
Also: the Beretta 93R doesn't really have much as a handgrip, it is just to help keep the muzzle down in full auto. I don't think many people grip it in the same fashion as say an MP5k.
