fouling

IMO Wipe out is the best kept secret in barrel cleaning. I used to use CR 10, Butches bore shine or hoppes#9. Wipeout is very easy and it just plain works. No scrubbing = less chance of dammaging your barrel from cleaning. I am of the opinion that more barrels are wrecked from improper cleaning then not cleaning.

These happen to be the 3 cleaners in my kit... Barns CR10 you need a stop watch when your useing it ... very corissive.

Wipe out ... it works. Plug your chamber. You dont want that sh*t in your action.

Butches bore shine is recomended by all the best bench rest shooters ive met. And is my personal favorite. Works great, safe on your barrel.

I find with an aftermarket hand lapped barrels you wont get copper fouling.
Factory barrels are terrible to try and get copper out of... There just rough.

As far as a brush if you prefer nylon, case neck brushes are nice and big. I used to stay away from copper brushes but over time with experience ive learned to not be afraid of copper brushes they work the best.

Remember to use a plastic guide that protects you action, and dont for get to wipe any excess cleaner or oil from your chamber. A small piece of paper towel around a case neck brush work great. Insert and give a good spin. Other guys like a shot gun mop, I prefer the way i explained just because i can put a fresh clean piece of paper towel on every time.

Happy Shooting :)

I don't know what the best is but I tried some birtchwood Casey bore cleaner and in one application it showed me pits in a 70's vintage Winchester I'd never seen before. Foamed up good and smells foul.
