I had understood that the amnesty covered firearms for which no registration certificate had ever been issued.

Bottom line is: If the amnesty covers your situation, you always have the option of registering the rifle before the amnesty expires. At that point they will probably be happy that you are declaring your ownership and bringing it within the system.

If you are concerned, talk to someone who runs a gun shop. Maybe they can have it entered into the system without running the risk of the rifle being seized and forfeited to the Crown (for destruction) before you come up with the paperwork.

If they are the Queens cowboys, how would you class the R.N.W.M.P. ?
A friend has a Lee-enfield carbine with that stamped on it. Unfortunately he won't let me buy it from him. DAMM.

To make matters even worse, he also owns a Webley Fosberry which he won't part with.;)

Oh by the way your folks forgot to mention "Bow Street Runners" the "Crushers", and the "Peelers":D

Yes....Best to turn it into the cops right away...Then they can get some 20 year old Cst. to pose with it on the front page 'all stone faced' declaring yet another 'time bomb' off the streets:rolleyes:

turns out it is a brazilian model 1908. 7mm mauser.

just got to clean the hell out of it now.

Bonus ;)

I have two Brazilians and they are both exceptionally accurate and very smooth. The bore should be good (with any luck).

dont i need to have it verified before i register it?

You have until the middle of May 2007 to register it.
There is an amnesty right now.
I'd wait - the gun registry may be gone by then.
