Found a small chip on the bolt face of my shotgun.

Have an 870 clone that I have used for years and has run great. I just noticed today after inspecting it that there is a small chip below the pin opening in the bolt right in the bolt face.

Just wondering if that is cause for concern or wear and tear.

Hard to see in pics but it’s the tiny dark spot right below the striker pin opening.

I'd just keep shooting it, but keep and eye on it. I have seen bolt faces in far worse condition than that .

Likely something on the case head when fired that left the mark. It shouldn't hurt anything as is

870s are tanks .... me neither I would not worry about it.
But I would check it every time I clean the gun and to see if it gets worse over time .....

Yeah keep shooting it, I don’t think the integrity of the bolt is in question.
