Found an old catalog

To the guys who are so hot for the PTRS/PTRDs, it was only 5 years ago that they were at several different dealers here in Canada for about that same price on the PTRD. The PTRS usually ran in the mid 2K area. I bought one of each, but sold them when I got my Boyes rifle....a far better piece of machining.

I didnt have a PAL 5 years ago :D

That was 1994. I have that edition as well.

I was in the throes of buying a house in Vancouver and saving every nickel to pay it off. And I did.

I already had a really good 1938 MN, a poor 1891 MN and an 1896 Swede plus my childhood Ross 303 so the only thing I ended up buying over the years was a barreled action for an MN ($12.95), an M44 MN stock the year later ($12.95) a Nikko Sterling LER scope that cost more than the gun parts, a B-Square mount and I made a scout rifle out of those parts.

I'm wondering if one of you fellows that has this catalogue (and a scanner) would be so kind to scan all the pages for our drooling pleasure, please.:)

I just noticed that they had the un-issued ChiCom SKS's listed for $149.99.

I paid $149 each for the ones I bought at Lever Arms in 2006. I guess some things didn't change that much.

I'm kicking myself now that I didn't buy a crate of 20 when I had the chance.

Interesting on some prices, some are cheaper now than then.

What is the deal with the RESTRICTED status on the FAL? 21" barrel, did they go restricted by name before prohib?

i never knew there was a bulgarian tokarev.

if i had a time machine i would order the east german mak, bulgarian tokarev, and the FEG 37. not to mention a set of mosin M44's.

Thank you very much! I appreciate you taking the time.:)

Man, do I wish I had more money and knowledge back then.:(

On top of scooping up a bunch of EG Maks and Fazakerley No.4 Mk2's, I'd buy some of those AKS 84S rifles for $250.:)

Kudos to you for keeping your old catalogues. I tossed that one about 15 years ago. I seem to remember one that had CZ 75's, 85's and 99's in it.

Blast my myopic foresight and 20/20 hindsight.:D

Geeez.....that brings backsome memories> I bought my first high power rifle from International in Montreal back in the mid 60's. A Venezuelan army rifle, semi-auto in 7 x 57. Traded it to Brian Thomas at Thomas's Coffee Shop in Stratford in 67 or 68. anybody remember that coffee shop with the gun shop in the back.......and Brian in a wheelchair?

My pleasure:) From that catalogue, i bought my beat up russian SKS 1956,laminated stock for $95.95, a Mosin Nagant M91 at $54.95 good to very good and a Finish M91/30 for $39.95 overall good cond but the bore is excellent, shoot very well. I still have thoses rifles, they were the first in my collection and are on the never sell list:) I have all the catalogues from 1994 to the closure of CenturyArms, maybe i will post somes pages if there's interest:)
Cheers,Jocelyn

Makes you wonder where things will be at 20 years from now. I see a lot of firearms in there that were Restricted, and are now Prohibited. Wonder if we will even be able to own some of this stuff in another 20 years. Sad:(

I have a 1983 Retail catalog and a flyer from the late 70s and the prices are amazing.
In the late 70s you could buy Brazilian M-1908, & M-1935s new in the grease with matching bayonets, muzzle cover, sling, and factoey test target for $159.95.
New HK-91 & 93s for $389.95, US M1 Carbines in Exc condition $149.95, Liberator pistols $59.95, 8mm FN-49s Exc condition $149.95.

I'd like to see that flyer listing the Brazilian Mausers, please.:)

Keep in mind that wages were a lot lower then too.

Do you have the one that the CZ pistols were listed in? (ie. CZ75, 85 & 99)

I'd like to take a gander at that one if you have it, please.:)

It might have been the 1993 catalogue though.

snip...

Yeah, but in '94 I was making what, $7 an hour, in '96 $12.75, in '98 back down to $11.

Prices may seem lower then, but relative to the $ value....

Just like when I broke for the first time $40K, I was really excited until I converted it to US $.

$40K Kanukistan was darn close to poverty line in the US....

I was commenting on the fact that (for some) they were MORE expensive in the 90's then now.

Case in point M14.
