Found H870 powder. Load data?

I just bought two pounds of H870 from a closing out sale. It seems like it has been discontinued and load data is not included in my newer reloading book. Any opinions on this powder? Hoping to load 338 lapua or 300wsm.

Should work in the 338 Lapua, particularly with heavy bullets.

Too slow for the WSM, though.

I use it in my 264 win mags, all my manuals are to old to have the data you require i think.

Supposedly replaced with US869 and uses the same data. Loads using a shovel. Starting loads are over 90 grains.

If anyone one has a couple of recipes for the 338 lapua and h870, feel free to pass them on.

Anything I've found that has H870 data is way too old to list the Lapua. You might be further ahead to trade it for a powder that you like. By the time you finish working up a load you will be out of powder. On the other hand I know a few guys that are looking for it for their STW or 264 because they already have a load worked up.

I am down to my last 2 lbs of this fine old powder, and have played with it in my 338 Lapua with the 285 gr Hornady. I can assure you that it's faster than US869. I was going to post my load data for about 10 powders, and will when I complete it.
