Found in a floor joist.

I was in the furnace room tracing a water pipe and noticed something shoved up in the floor joist.
Grabbed it and not expecting whatever it was to be heavy I dropped it...
Bubba lived here too.
I texted a pic to our D/Chief and asked if I could keep it. lol
He said hell no and got a member from our detachment to come get it. (I live in the county).

Used to shoot PPC with ex RCMP. He told me the gun he pulled from ppl alot up north, was modified cooeys like that.

dead stock trucks had cut down 22 guns with them, they were legal till 1977 when legislation was passed outlawing them . overall length was the sticky point.

WTF? Who would do such a thing? They should have called you instead. That's a poor set of friends.

+1.

Jeffman has said he sees that kind of thing all the time as well.

Meth head that crashed the car into the pole outside my house. Was caught years before with a saw off suppressed rem 597.

Personally I would have peeled bolt, trigger etc and chucked barrel away. Always someone looking for a cooey bolt seems like.

It's been a while but there was a house on 16th Ave SW in Calgary that had a couple rifles and shotguns stuffed into the basement joists.
I had a buddy that worked for a junkyard one summer and he said they were always pulling guns and ammo out of the vehicles. He also got free gas.

It would a a K98K, ww2 era, but sporterized. Based on the cheesy camo paint, I’m thinking it was done up in the 80’s or 90’s.

Almost certainly it was still in 8x57 Mauser.

Your friends are brainwashed

Tell them I have some nice water front property for sale cheap… best view is at low tide…😉

Please have them call me.

Working at an auto wreckers like 72-75 . I remember just being a kid . They would get me to check under seats and trunk wells to check for loose ammo and money before cars went back in the yard

I worked for a plumber during school breaks and found a few Webley and S&W revolvers, one Luger with mags and cleaning kit in a wood presentation case lined in red felt, all up in the floor joists.
The biggest find happened when I was clearing out a corner in a basement where the new hot water tank was going and came across a rectangular green wood box that contained one fully intact Bren gun with mags, spare parts and cleaning kit, who knows what else was in that house!!
