Thought I would show what a friend of mine found in an attic in Europe, currently he is looking for a stock for it. I know you guys will be able to identify it immediately:) Thanks for looking!

Looks like the remains of an Erma EMP, probably second variation. First variation has a long barrel, third version usually had a 2 range flip sight. Made early '30s until 1938, when Erma started producing the MP38. Sold commercially in the '30s, many into Spain during the Civil War. Ask your friend if there is a sling loop built into the front lower right side of the magazine housing collar.
