Found Mosin Nagant M39 in pawn store $450!

I'd give ya 5 Bordens for it ;)

So I did score a good deal.

I was worried with the metal well worn and a few songs on the wood but it's a 1941 so it probably saw action. But it is all numbers matching except the rear sights.

Ok I was out shooting stuff and I found it shoots pretty much the same as my 1903A Springfield. So it's one of my top rifles for shooting but I find my $149 Russian Mosin Nagant with tanker muzzle brake, accurizing kit, timmney trigger, scope mounted on rear sight dove tail with rubber butt pad shoots the best. So for me I rank the rifles I own in this order.
#1 Mosin Nagant 91/30 with a bunch of add ons
#2 Mosin sniper with howling raven muzzle brake
#3 Ross m-10
#4 1903A Springfield
#5 Finnish m39
#6 svt-40

Then all the rest of the rifles are whatever

But the most fun to shoot is

Svt-40 & sks & keltec sub 2000

You did well! Not many around for sale, only one I've seen lately was on the EE. Asking was $1500 and by the description was of exceptional condition. It sold fast. I was tempted to ask for pics but knew if I did there would likely be some deficit spending/economy stimulation on my part.

The "D" should stand for ,it is safe for the larger diameter Russian ammo.not all MN's are .312 bore ......the Finn models 27,28 +28/30 are .308 ....Harold

You got lucky with that one, it has the old Russian imperial crest on the receiver, not scrubbed.

Let's put it this way, they ain't making more and they ain't getting cheaper.

Last ones went for over the 1500 price point, and they sold fast. Within minutes.

Looking beyond price, you got a nice one, enjoy it and keep that bore pristine!

You seem to know your stuff what do you think this would go for on the EE or if I get a table at a gun show?

The D means the chamber will accept cartridges carrying the 200 grain D166 FMJ bullet. Lapua still makes the D166 (0.310).

I'd sooner sit on a log and smash my nuts with a hammer than pay $1500 for a m39 , YMMV , have prices for these really gone that crazy??

No, they are not worth $1500. pcvando has been advertising these inflated prices all over CGN for the last few months for some reason. Maybe because he was selling one or two? He has also been posting insanely inflated prices of Yugoslavian SKS rifles and then lo and behold, he posts one for $1400 and then a crate of them for $16,000.

At least 4 M39 were sold for $700-$850 on the EE in the last ~4 months, they were all in great shape. One even sold for $550. I scan the EE daily, and those were/are the going prices until the price fixing shenanigans. There have been a few YouTube videos driving up demand for a while, but it will settle down again.

You did get a good deal.

You are entitled you your opinion.

These are the prices I am seeing them sell for, and maybe it's a regional difference. Your across the country from me.

You cant argue with the fact that they have sold for $1500 and more. Even several dealers and sponsors have commented in previous value threads on the M39 that they are worth that much.

Don't like the price? Don't buy one - but just know that they are selling for that price. Can you find them for less? Sure. Can you find them for more? Sure.

I really don't appreciate you spreading BS and crap about me in every damn thread - but maybe that's the kind of person you are. Let's not get into that.

I don't make these prices up, I see them sell for this much, heck, multiple stores had M39's for the $1300-1600 mark. These included Elwood epps, Collectors source, PE guns etc.

So before you comment, they were not "asking and got an offer" they actually sold for those prices.

Can't we all just get along ;)
