where to get? IDK.

but i'd sure like to find a bayo....

Pics soon to come havent had a chance to load any on computer yet but when i do ill be sure to post. I know i was quite pleased when he said he had a bayo for it and retrieved it for me from under the counter. he is also gonn abe sending me a sheath for the bayo as well.

Brownells has a repro m-10 cleaning kit for them. I bought one for mine n its ok but I wouldn't put oil in the oil jug, junk. Everything else was good though. Have fun figuring out how to getit all in there, but it does go!

Any one have a favorite factory ammo for there garands? I here that u have be careful not to use hand loads or factories that have softer primers. in the case of hand loads i have also read that if the primer is not set deep enough u can have a cartridge go off from the bolt going forward. I dont have any intention of loading my own right away but its an intresting point to know.

The Hornady Garand match was what I was shooting. I think there was another brand that made Garand specific ammo too. That's all I'd shoot other than hand loads. If you take proper precautions hand loads are the only way to go. Harnadys stuff is really nice but man do you pay for it. $38.99 a box here. Considering a Lee classic loader kit can be had for $100 and dies for another $30 ammo that expensive and not tailored to your rifle makes no sense.

There's also the garand specific American eagle stuff with 150 gr fmj at 2740...was costing me $22/box. Reloading is definitely the way to go though...

if you aren't reloading yet, PM pocketfisherman and get an adjustable gas plug.

It will allow you to shoot commerical ammo without damaging your garand as much as it normally would by venting gases.

I've read about some guys who think they are new fangled POS (adjustable gas plugs in general not pocketfisherman's)

others that swear by them.
