Found some IMR 8208 XBR

I've been reading alot of good things about this powder and was able to find a pound today. Going to try some loads in the 204. It's suppose to have top velocities, great accuracy and isn't temp sensitive. I'm adout to find out. Just wondering if anyone here has had a chance to try this powder and what kind of results you've had. I'll give a report after a little testing.

I saw some last Friday at the local reloading emporium in Sudbury, ON. I didn't know anything about it other than it's supposed to not be temp sensitive, made in Oz, and has green colour. Does it compare with any other known powders?

It is/was the darling of the benchrest crowd a few years ago, also called thunderbird or some such, I'm told it was something "to die for", at least certain lots of it.

Bought some the other day. Will try it in 22-250. Max. load with a 40 gr. nosler boat tail it's doing 4336fps (Hodgdon's 2010 manual). Should be interesting.

Meanee00, I found some at MacDonalds in P La P.
I had a chance to load some test loads last night and got tonight to shoot. I loaded it behind 32gr V-Max and 26gr Varmint Grenades. Had acouple good loads with each with nice groups I manage to blow with the last shot. First group was about 3/4in. Each bullet had one group going less than 1/2in. The powder is fine grained stick powder with short grains. It's colored like Varget and meters real well. I'll load up some more using .2grs to narrow it down, and lay off the caffine before going out.
