Has anyone had first hand experience with these FoxPro Electronic calls.

I've been wanting to pick one up but am unsure of which to buy. I can get a Fury for $120 more than an FX3.
I've read that many users love these calls but some have issues with their remotes.

Which one has less issues with remote glitches etc.

Bought my FX3 stateside couple years back...400 bucks then. Killer on coyote and crows. First time I used it crow hunting I shot 31...nice to have your hands free to feed ammo and shoot! Would rather trade my first born than give up my FX3. Don't know anything about the other model though.

i got a FX3 and a jack in box. Havent used it much, but i have had a couple sucsess stories with it. But i find i can get them in better with my mouth calls. They just dont seem to answer as much to the fox pro like they do to the mouth calls around me. I might just end up selling it soon as i got no use for it. I might send it away first to upgrade to a FX5 though as i cant find the remote for the life of me.

I have an fx3. Only thing i don't like is the remote when using in the winter time. The buttons are hard to use. I know they have a newer remote now with a digital screen. Really wish I had that. Half of the time I can't tell if the caller is on mute or if the volume is way down. So it might be on mute and I'm pressing the volume up...and up and up and finally figure out its on mute, so I hit the mute button and the caller screams on full volume, scaring every living thing for the next 5 square miles LOL

This is going to sound lame but I am not a big fan of the foxpro series callers. I like the compact package but I don't like how unreliable the remotes are unless you hang the caller in a tree or in a someplace high up. Foxpro should add an antenna extension so you can get better reception.

I have read about many complaints on the remotes as well. I was hoping the Fury model would have better remote reception.....can anyone confirm?

What other options are there for top end electronic calls?

It is not that Foxpro's have crappy remotes or receivers - in fact it is quite the opposite. The problem lies with the fact that they are tested and designed for open desert like terrain - Texas type terrain and they are line of sight operated (think tv) and I like to hide my speaker so it isn't out in the open for the coyote to see.

I bought a Johnny Stewart Predator caller and it is a really good caller - the speaker assembly is in two pieces: a receiver and a speaker. The speaker is attached via a short or long audio cable (it comes with both) and the receiver has the batteries and antenna unit with the elec sound cards and lanyard to hang it in a tree. I usually will hide the speaker in some long grass, run the receiver to a nearby tree and hang up the receiver. I can actually move quite a distance away from the receiver and still see it and so the remote operates perfectly every time. I am not going to say that this system is better or worse then the Foxpro just different and it works really well for me. The foxpro has more sounds and is definitely a nice compact unit but they are hell of a lot more expensive than the JS. There are advantages to both but I ended up with the JS as I felt the remote system needed to be 100 percent reliable and not fussy. This is mainly because I don't like to mess around during stand setup playing with the e-caller - I just want it to work. All the other stuff (gucci sounds/uploadable sounds/fancy camo/etc) wasn't enough of an added bonus to me to screw around setting up my stand to ensure perfect functionality. I have about 5-6 stands at 15 mins/stand and travel time starting from 0700 (first light) until about 1030-1100 so I don't want to waste time with the e-caller. I highly recommend the JS but I wouldn't say no to a Foxpro if someone were to offer it to me.
