So how about a hint for a beginner predator hunter in Southern Ontario? For those who call coyotes down here what calls would you recommend I put on my Firestorm and use to call some canines? Thanks

I really like the Lightning Jack sound, even though we have very few down here it seems to work the best in my area. A real raspy squal with good volume. Nothing beats letting the sound of the pack of coyotes howling and yipping and hearing live coyotes a block or two over light up with their own chorus.

DSG cottontail, dying jack, vole squeaks are my favorite distress sounds. I find myself using my turkey box call more often now. Just make the quickest loudest yelps like a turkey is being eatten alive. Had multiple coyotes run in so fast I couldn't stop them within minutes of playing it. Definatly want a shotgun for that instance.

I find you don't need to turn the foxpro up very loud either, start on low volume for the first 5 minutes then progressively work its way up. I think they get even more weery when the call is overly loud

The kitten distress call is pretty good and holds very clear at higher volume.

I would like to download more crow.

kitten as in feral cat kitten?

Would there be a difference?
A cat is a cat, is a cat. A distressed one is synonymous with an easy meal.
Before we get carried away, this is about calling yotes, not treating cats as our equals.
So for the sake of conversation, the kitten distress is indeed a feral cat, it is also known to kill every other mammal that crosses it's path.
Struggling cats bring coyotes in on a string.
It's a sound, not an animal.

Haha. Easy pyd. I'm looking to call coyotes with whatever distressed cries I need. There is no problem with me that it may be imitating a feral cat or a distressed house cat. I had an cat in my old neighborhood that I would probably ended up tying up as a decoy if they had not moved. Found the sound on gofoxpro.com and putting it in the list to download. And thanks for the advice on using the foxpro

That sure came out more sarcastic than I had intended, I certainly didn't mean it to come across like that. Sorry man.

Can't leave now. I only have three more months of non-resident hunting. Plus I just got a job. Fly in anytime. If you come in the new year I can take you out and you don't have to just watch.
