I purchased a spitfire foxpro with a mojo critter decoy, man does it work great. however i'm thinking that the calls are not ideal for my area (central alberta). the snowshoe 2 works and the lightning jack seem to be ok. but i'm thinking a highpitch raspy call might be better.

there is no doubt that the decoy is worth its weight in gold. the dogs are fixated on it.

what call sounds are you using for coyotes with success with your foxpro?

I have yet to try mine out here, however before I moved from Ontario either I was in an area with low coyote numbers or they just did not respond well to the call. However I shot a pile of crows over it after loading a few more crow sounds on the card and you probably would not even imagine it but each time I let loose with Snowshoe2 I was immediately covered up in Ravens!! I was hoping they would draw a coyote with all their racket, kind of like a bonus call effect but no such luck.....can't wait to try it out here on the prairies!

Mine is a Johnny Stewart . Best success is with snowshoe/cottontail distress . Fox pups and woodpecker . I have deer rattling and it works very well as does the moose calls . Set it up right beside me one time with a snowshoe distress playing and i was moving my head side to side watching when a big owl took the touque right off my head .

Been there!! First time I ever tried predator hunting I was using one of those rubber Scotch brand calls that sounded like a dying rabbit. My buddy and I were hidden in a small tag alder patch on the edge of a field hoping to call in a fox. After a few notes on the call we suddenly looked up in time to see a set of talons coming at us from barely 5 feet away. Was a Snowy Owl, he had us pinpointed, I think all three of us caught sight of each other at the same time! The owl booked it out fast, his talons narrowly missing me by mere inches. My buddy and I sat there looking at each other "owl eyed" for lack of a better term and laughing nervously while our heart rates dropped back to normal. We never did see anything else that evening but I suspect the initial yelling of WTF was heard all the way back to the nearest town 5 miles away!! LOL

lighting jack is the BEST sound on the call. works awesome! It is loud and sounds intense. That is my go to sound!
