FP-45 Liberator (Warning to low speed internet users)

I bought mine about 8 years ago for $200. unfired and have not wanted to change its status. Saw one in a plumbing shop in edmonton mounted on the wall "POLAK GUN" with two 90 degree elbows welded to the barrel. Can one export them to the USA under the "relic and curios" clause? Prices are astounding.

I don't believe you can. If that was possible, they would all be down south already.

not allowed since these guns were "given away" and NOT paid for the gun control act of 1968 (i believe) prevents the importation of guns given away for free

If you can PROVE that they were bought then you can NOT gonna happen as no serial # to prove anything....

Hate to burst your bubble but ALL the Liberators were test fired at the factory before being boxed up. So your gun has indeed been fired previously.

$hit, another bubble gone, now I find out my wife wasn't really a virgin either!!! Ever have one of those days?

All you old guys from T.O.who remember HOLMAN&HICKEY on Dawes Rd had em on sale for 5$ yup 5$...I sold mine way beforeC68 for 19$..and I also once owned all the MARK's sten guns 1 thru 5...all I have left is a MP18 ,snail drum, and a whole pile of good memories. JITC

I assume you bought this at the auction up near brantford.
i understand it went cheap like $350 or $450.
I dont think many people even knew its value!!

I bought mine at bud Haynes auction, auction # 173,, now at auction# 215 so it was early C-68 and nobody wanted these little guns, same sale got a baby browning for $50,,[might be unfired] I left a buddy with a bid up to $350. for the Lib and got it for $200,, My nonvirgin wife was more expensive but has been a better investment!!! Shoulda bot too more..:runaway:

How do you know this? Were you there?
I have, in my later years, discovered that being able to read has certain advantages in life. ;)

The book talks about how the guns were made and tested. They make light of the fact that all 1 million of the little buggers had to be test fired. After a while the guys doing the test firing could hit small sticks at crazy distances out on the test range. Can you imagine shooting one round each through 1 million guns?

Oh yeah and I researched and wrote an article on the Liberator some time back. http://www.nfa.ca/content/view/105/197/

The Liberator Pistol is not a gun you take to a Gunfight!

10 seconds to reload each shot! What if you missed?

At least they could have tried to make it automatic like a 1911 for cheap.
