So I scored a P229 SAS (my 2nd one ) from a friend, I got it cheap... BUT... it looks like its been through a war. I don't know how, but he's got scratches all on the frame. I'm not worried about tiny surfaces scratches... what worries me is the huge scratches next to the mag release from this guy trying to swap it to the other side. They are down to the aluminum.

I thought I could deal with it... but the bare alloy really contrasts with the black finish of the frame.

I've contacted a couple gunsmiths, but they are all completely unable to help. The most helpful suggestion so far has been to use a Sharpie (seriously).

Ideas? Is there anything I can do? Aluminum touch up pens just seem to rub right off. Will one of the bake on finishes do the job, or will that screw up tolerances?

Striker, I may require your services once again.... :)

It's not a big deal... I may decide to live with it, or it may start to bother me even more. You'll be the first guy I contact if I decide to go the refinishing route.

I don't even need anything filled. My primary concern is the contrast between bare alloy and black finish.
