Picked up a Franchi 48AL on the weekend & during disassembly / cleaning I noticed it had no friction rings installed. Came with one but I am unsure if it is suppose to have two on either end of the recoil spring, like an Auto 5 or just one between the recoil spring & bronze brake? Can't find a diagram online for free or a manual tonight. Does anyone Know?

"My AL48 12 gauge 2 3/4" only only has one brass ring and one washer. For light loads have the washer on top of the spring with the bevel side down (towards spring) then place the brass ring ontop. Make sure the magazine tube is lightly lubed. If you still have problems add a little more lube on the magazine tube. "

schematics from E-gun parts (Numrich) but costs $1.00

Was sitting on hold with Benelli USA when I noticed the new post. Thanks for saving me at least 30 mins on hold. Had tried Peter at Stoger Canada with no luck this morning. I'll let you know how it goes...

Light setting: From the bottom (receiver) up. Spring, steel ring with the bevel facing the spring, brass ring, barrel.

Heavy setting: From the bottom (receiver) up. Spring, steel ring with bevel facing the brass ring (front of gun), brass ring, barrel.

Leave it in the heavy setting unless it fails to cycle, then try the light setting.
