I recently purchased a used Franchi 612 sporting and I haven't yet shot it. I took it apart and noticed a white plastic ring (washer) mounted just over the piston. The ring looks very worn and I couldn't find any literature about it online (the gun didn't come with a manual). I will only shoot trap and other clay games with it so it will only sees light target loads.
Do I need this ring for the gun to function reliably?
Secondly, I was a little confused...based on the attached pictures, is this gun a variopress or reverpress piston system?
