L.A. Luigi Franchi Brescia is on the receiver but I can’t seem to find any information. Looks like a B80 Browning. Proof tested for 3 inch in 12 gauge with a chrome lined barrel. Engraved steel receiver. Can steel shot be used with a chrome lined barrel? Would a b80 barrel fit. Thanks 39252414-8D72-4AA9-BF62-53E876F2EAE8.jpg

If it is choked Mod or bigger steel shot shouldn't be a problem. If it has interchangeable chokes, again Mod or bigger for steel shot.

Thats a Franchi 48al. Browning barrel wont fit.

As mentioned above, steel can be shot out of barrel with a modified choke or more. The 3” guns usually had 30” or 32” barrels and full chokes. Its very rare to find a 30” barrel with a modified choke. Usually the 28” barrels have modified chokes and the 26” barrels had IC choke.

Be mindful that 3” barrels fit on 2.75” guns and vice versa. But never shoot 3” shells if the gun has a 2.75” receiver. 3” guns always have steel receivers and 99% of 2.75” guns have an alloy receiver. There is only one model of 48 that has a 2.75” steel receiver and if I recall it was called the Dynamic-12 and its has no engraving on it.
