That was the Franchi SPAS 12, totally different shotgun.

Yup, the SPAS 12 was prohib - in fact it looked sooooooooo dangerous, it wasn't even grandfathered, like the Feather AT9 and AT22 (yes 22 as in 22 Long Rifle), it was flat out prohibbed and seized from it's owners. There are some SAS 12's with a 6 inch barrel that are restricted.

Yes the SPAS 12's were confiscated as I know from personal experience. But the funny thing was is that at least mine, and from what I heard a lot of them, were pieces of Chit that jammed all the time and the thing weighed something like 10+ lbs.

i dont think the spas12 is a prohib but the spas15 is for sure. wish i had a spas15 so much.

SPAS 12 is listed as a prohib, along with the LAW 12 and SPAS 15. If it wasn't a prohib, I'd pay a very pretty penny for one. If this was 1989, there'd be a SPAS, a LAW and a Streetsweeper gracing my gun locker
