I was at Cabelas today wandering around in the Gun Library. They have a bunch of used guns for sale in there and I saw a very unusual .22 made by Franchi. It looks similar to a Browning but it ejects out the side rather than the bottom. It might have been a dumb decision but I bought it. I took it apart when I got home and cleaned it all up, it seems to be in great shape. There is a small plaque on the bottom of the stock that says CIL model 68. From what I can find out it seems that this gun was only made for a couple of years in the 60's and there were only about 8000 made. I'm going to try to get to the range tomorrow and try it out.
The trigger group is similar to my Remington 597 but it's all metal parts instead of plastic like the Rem.
