Franchi Semi's @ Trade Ex

Myself and Money Shot each have one. His was mint with nice wood. Mine was filthy inside but after a good cleaning came up as nice as his. Handled all 2 3/4" loads I put in it. Very light and well made. I feel that they are well worth the money charged. Looking at buying another one just because they will be all gone some day and I will wish I had. Buy one you won't be sorry.

cheers Darryl

Franchi are generally well made guns. If you get one with an alum receiver, expect more kick.

Dang it! Now you got me thinking . . .

I intend to use mine on grouse hunts. (only 6 plus pounds) I will feed Fiocchi spreader loads through the MOD choke for woodlands grouse on sunny fall afternoons. I know you want one Grouse man.....

I have a friend looking for an all round semi-auto, mainly for trap use. How suitable is the mod 48/auto 5 for this purpose? Also is it practical to have choke tubes installed. (is the barrel suitable for this conversion?)

The barrels will have enough wall thickness to install some brands of choke tubes. Mine has a chrome lined bore which is harder to work with. I think these light weights would be a little punishing with recoil to shoot targets all day with. In my opinion they are made to be very nice upland guns to be carried all day. I can't think of a better gun to carry for all day grouse/ pheasant hunts. (yes there are better ones but not for 250.00)

I know the country of origin. What I meant was so many of the same kind of shotgun available, were they former military/police/security use or just old used sporting shotguns or rentals?? Just curious.
