Hey everyone, I'm looking into buying my first semi auto shotgun, price range around 1500 max, so far I've found the franchi affinity 3 or the winchester sx4.
I wanted to know your opinions and why or any other recommendations around that price range.
Thank you!

I am old and have owned many guns.I have owned both brands of guns and presently own a Winchester SX3 which I bought new in 2012. I would guess I’ve put at least 10,000 plus rounds out of this gun and still super reliable. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one. I see a few on the EE and some are nib. That’s what my choice would be. Best of luck and cheers Chris

Same actions, similar prices, fit is what is going to be most important. Holding a gun in a safe carry position, look at something that's safe to point at and then close your eyes and raise the gun to aim at it. If when you open your eyes one of the guns is more dead on target, there's your answer. Added note: do not expect the sales person to know what the heck you're doing.

I have the Winchester SX3 and it's been great.

Only complain is: I wish it had the the larger trigger guard for gloved hands like the SX4 for waterfowling.

Cheers
Jay

I have a Franchi Intensity which is basically the same thing as the Affinity but the receiver has slots for optics. They are great guns all around. No issues with mine, cycles low-brass target loads without issue. Not fussy about being clean. It’s very similar to the Benelli M2 field internally.
