Is there a distributor in Canada for frangible 9mm bullets? Sinterfire manufactures them in US but their online distributor farngibleammo.com does not ship outside United States.

My new handgun club does not allow FMJ bullets and apparently lead bullets in 9mm does not perform accurately due to the high speed of 9mm bullet. The club is OK with frangible bullets.
My lead reloads do not tumble or keyhole but, the accuracy is compromised substantially while compared to my FMJ 9mm reloads.
I am using 125gr lead round nose with 4.2 gr of red dot.

Thanks

would hollow points be ok? I love Speers Gold Dot Hollow points, they aren't very cheap ($27/100, I use 45acp), but they are pretty available. They're Jacketted Hollow Points, so as far as your gun cares, they're jacketted, and won't lead up your barrel, and they're not FMJ, so should be ok with range.

Do you cast your lead bullets or just load commercial lead?
If you cast you might want to try slugging your barrel and sizing up to .002 more than your barrel diameter. I find i get exceptional accuracy with my cast, tumbled lubed 124g RN bullets sized to .357 inches in my 9mm guns, no leading either. Accuracy is just as good if not better than commercial FMJ.
I tried a few at .356 and they were all over the target.

Thanks for your replies.

Just a clarification that I am looking for frangible bullets for reloading not the factory cartridges. It also appears that Shooting Edge carries the cartridges only and from their price list a minimum order of 1000 rounds required. I can not justify that price and quantity for my shooting hobby.

My club is not OK with jacketed period and they state the reason to do something with the removal and recycling of the lead. They are OK with frangible since will disintegrate upon impact with the back stop. A security agency that rents time for practice there, uses frangible bullets with their glock 9mm.

I do not cast my bullets. I have measured diameters for this batch of 1000 and it varies between .356 and .357. Would it help if I reduce the charge for lower speed and then I may get consistency.

Apu, my gun is a Ruger P89. This series of bullets wouldn't work with my Norinco NP29 due to their large diameter (wouldn't chamber properly). It seems that NP29 chamber was much tighter than P89.
Can you give some info regarding your loads in terms of the powder weight. By the way, I was told that the accuracy with lead is not consistent among different 9mm pistols. Is it true?

Just wanted to bring back to the top, and ask if you had any luck finding, and at what price? I don't need them for my range, but wouldn't be a bad idea to have the ready magazines loaded thusly, reduced penetration and all. Also just seems like a neat idea, if there were a place to get a box, it'd be one more cool thing to try.
