Trying to sight in using orange clay disc and find out the hard way if the bullet is too fast it will simply punch a hole instead of shattering the whole thing.
The range I went to does not allow the use of tannerite and steel target, so they're out of option.
Any option I should go for? Splatterbust would work but I prefer something that is more easily visible.

so...you just need a target for visible hits, not too concerned with seeing misses ? Large splatter targets are good for seeing where to adjust
if you just want something more reactive than a clay, why not just a plastic bottle with water.....or 10......laid down to aim for the bottom

Princess auto had self healing targets on clearance. Bought them for 15$ each, theyre 10inch circles.
I'm concerned on how they would work with 223 Rem at merely 50 yard, if they got hole-in-one'd I'd be out of money real quick

Plastic bottle is also unfortunately out of equation due to range policy, but good suggestion.
Small balloons work great. One time use but they disappear when struck and they are cheap. 🤷‍♂️
I think I found the best suggestion here! This will also train me on my breathing technique if I want to say shoot 40+ round (and pop 40+ balloons) in one sitting lol.
Yes I know I can get a hand pump for like $Cheap but please don't ruin the joke of me blowing like 40+ balloon in short succession
