Was looking to put a mid-point sling loop on my Vz58. Wasn't too keen on the plates offered. For the most part it makes sliding the scope mount on and off a PITA. It clears, but just barely. So I devised a plan to use a AR-15 sling plate and modify it to fit.
After much searching I went with the GG&G ambidextrous plate, luckily Wolverine was offing them. Here is the result:
Needs some final touch-ups but over all it seems to work. It's not the most ideal location and sits an inch more rearward than a true AR set-up. My only fear is the stock tube will rotate from use as it lacks the lug to mate with the AR receiver. I will have to put it through it paces once my sling arrives.
