Any ideas on identifying this thing, I think its a webley MK V, 7.5inch barrel barrel assembly with a Webley WG army frame. With the winged hollow-based bullet W&S logo I think that puts it as an antique as well, thoughts ?

Its a MKV MK five and not antique not even close its a custom ordered gun with the longer barrel.
nothing on it that is from a WG .

Dingus is 100% correct.

No part of that is a WG. It is a long barrelled MKV. Not antique and CFP does not accept the winged bullet trademark as proof of age.

I believe the CFP may have used the winged mini ball in my case. Perhaps more to the point, confusion may exist because Webley and Scott used a winged solid base bullet while Webley and Sons used the winged mini ball. The two look similar enough that there is bound to be some confusion

Webley and Sons became Webley and Scott about 1898 and some literature says that the trademark changed from the winged Minnie bullet to a winged flatbase bullet. But the winged hollow base bullet was still showing up on some Webley and Scott revolvers well after 1900. The CFP apparently no longer accepts the winged minie bullet as proof of pre-1898 manufacture.
