Ok guys. Have a Savage axis not the one with accutrigger. I am original owner. Bought 3 or 4 years ago. Hunted with it a couple time shot targets nothing too heavy like maybe 2 boxes at most down the pipe. Any ways put boyds stock on and had missing issues the bolt would not pick up the shell, it would pick the first one up never the second and maybe 3rd and on and on well you get the hint. Anyways broke the original clip trying too modify it. went back too orginal stock and new clip and still same dam thing. The shells look like they do not go high enough and also sit too far back in clip for bolt too slide forward.. Tried repositiong shells in clip too no avail trying too get it working for my wife this year.... The bolt is kinda sloppy too but heard thats true for savage .. like too say never had issues the first year of shooting it thank you for reading...

Was this all after you changed the stock? It's possible the action screw up front is protruding into the chamber slighty. Or if your magazine retention tab is busted more then likely the round isn't high enough up to get caught by the bolt. Try a new magazine and see if that fixes your issue.

One thing to try is pushing up on the magazine and cycling the bolt to see if it feeds. If it does a new magazine should fix all your issues. I'm not aware of anybody that offers a drop in aftermarket magazine. You could go to something like an MDT LSS for a long action, this will get you AICS magazines.

Broke the back clip trying too fit it for boyds stock. It seemed the clip was sloppy when when inserted and bolt wasnt picking shells up like you said was too low.. will try another clip and check screw
