Fredericton, NB, Airgun Registry

Glad I moved out to BC in 88. I used to carry my airgun in my Daily Gleaner bag when i delivered newspapers back in the 70's and 80's. No problems ever. I feel sorry for the new kids.

Regards

All best people have gone to Alberta, whats left is getting crazier and crazier everyday. Witness resource development, communities with 85% on welfare and rioting AGAINST jobs.

AMEN! Welfare Bums, retirees and a few people left trying to slog out a living. No wonder we end up with this stupid S$$T FFS

But like one other guy said F'ton is is full of white collared civil servants, professors etc. There are normal places here that don't like all that rainbows and unicorn crap or riot when they try to put them to work!

Kitchen knife registry .... :(

There has been some talk in the UK of doing that... banning chef knives, long kitchen knives, butcher knives, something to that affect. Don't think it will happen but I remember reading something about it, I thought it was a joke but nope it was true.

Saw a report on that and they even had chefs (if they were chefs) saying there is no need for some of these deadly knifes in the kitchen.

When I first moved here to NB and heard about this registry I called the police to make sure it was real...the officer I spoke with took it very seriously, but he also kept repeating to me that, "it is a free service"...so guess you don't need to pay.

To add insult to injury, they expect you to pay for this 'service'....WTF!

As I recall the proposed British knife ban had to do with physicians calling for a ban on all "pointed" knives...that is, a ban on all knives capable of stabbing....and various chefs testified that there was no need for kitchen knives to be pointed!!

In Fredericton all BB guns must be registered or subject to confiscation. By the way, the registration of all air guns also extends to all fireworks, including firecrackers. These must also be registered with the police.

What's next. Licensing required for BB guns? Un believable.

Professors? They aren't all bad...I know one that is okay and I'm one too...so that makes two of us. As a long time (50 years or so) shooter, hunter, collector, reloader, etc., 8 years ago when I first moved here from my home in rural Alberta...oh wait...that explains it...

Makes one wonder. I've heard of people wanting to leave the province, but they are stuck due to the bottom falling out of the realestate market, and the tax the province is levying against the sale of the property.

Now i feel dirty for looking at so much CBC.

The stupid is too strong with this.

We all just need to use a special card to buy EVERYTHING with so the police/government know exactly what we own and when we bought it. And then some cameras with facial recognition on every street corner and in the rooms of our houses. Once that is in place we need some chips embedded in us so our locations can be further tracked.

...sounds like some creepy sci-fi movie plot ...but I guarantee you that everything above has been proposed and the technology researched and some is even in place today.

So where do I send my letters to speak out against this new level of stupid?

It's not my fight but in a way it is. Stuff like this just sneaks in, creeps up and before you know it we are all living in a Big Brother house.

So with this BB gun registry there must be super low crime there eh? Can Canadian Tire still sell them lol???

Actually my local Fredericton Canadian Tire, justa few blocks from my house, is redoing its sports section to include a real gunstore...a nice big wall of guns, taxidermy on the walls, lots of ammo, even reloading supplies...and stacks of discount airguns.
