Probably a better idea to move to the US and become a citizen if want a functioning AK.
Cant see our laws changing anytime soon.
Mine looks fine on the wall..3d art as someone else said.
I suppose if someone is enterprising enough they could re-activate one, but it seems to me to be a hell of a lot of work. Here's the list of deactivation procedures from Marstar's Deactivation Report for my Krinker:
1) 3-caliber-sized holes drilled into barrel at area of handguard
2) Steel rod inserted into abrrel
3) steel rod welded into the chamber and one of the barrel holes
4) Barrel welded to receiver
5) Bolt face cut at 45-degree angle
6) Bolt & follower welded to receiver
7) Hammer welded to bolt
8) Disconnector welded to frame and bolt
9) Magazine has feed lips removed
I ended up selling mine to another lister, but I gotta tell you, these things are pretty cool once you have it in your hands.

The web site doesn't have a shipping cost estimate calculator. How can you order without having an idea about shipping?
Well, I'm not hoping for ####&click, but atleast "live" action is a must for all of my dewats.
Price and promo based on cost, but don't worry, all of these combos will end next week sometime.

Nobody is worried. Just doesn't make sense. Same guns in both packages. Why would anyone spend $226.50 more to get 1 less SKS and 1 less case of 7.62x39?
I'm probably missing the boat huge in some way here, but I gotta ask because I don't get it...why would someone want a deactivated "krinker" or AK-74? Other than as a wall piece or boat anchor, what is the purpose? Like I said, I'm probably ignorant about something here. In my mind, I have that Tony Soprano line in my head, "Ain't nothin' more useless than an unloaded gun". Hey, I'm all about people having them if they want them, no issue there.
Because some people would rather have a deactivated AK-74 than no AK-74. It's not for everybody.

Is the welded bolt a requirement for the new dewats (after 7NOV 2006)?
