Free float tube for DMR Project

Hey All,

currently building an AR-15 Based DMR, and want to put a free float tube on it, but have a couple requirements, Just want to see if anyone knows of any that would fit my needs, and be available in Canada.

Looking for rifle lenght aluminum free float tube, knurled, similar to This, But I need a small 1913 rail on either side at the front, along with either a 1913 rail or a bipod stud on the bottom.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
 
Daniel Defense Modular Float Rail 12.0. Their RIS II is by far my favourite rail system but the MFR 12.0 will give you the slick profile you seem to want and still have the option to add a bipod or whatever else/where ever else you want with the addition of the railed slots. The full length top rail is great. I handled one on Wednesday and I'll be picking one up for my next build. FYI, the US Army is/was using Daniel Defense's M4 Rail 12.0, Rifle on their DMRs.
 
I would just buy a Hogue or Yankee Hill knurled tube. Hogue does sell a clamp on device that gives a sling stud on the bottom and rails on the top and sides but it adds a lot to the cost. Once I had the tube installed I'd simply drill it for a stud and some bolt on picatinny rails. YH sell rails that are already contoured for 2" tubes.

The easiest route would be to drop the knurled requirement and get a modular tube like the YHM Modular or if you feel like blowing a lot of cash a PRI carbon free float.

If you're looking for a quality bipod mount (I hope you're using a Harris bipod... :) ) look at the A.R.M.S.#32 throw lever bipod mount (P/N: ARMS-32) or the Knight's Armament Company Bipod Mount (P/N: 98060). Both have NSN's and are used with the Mk12 Mod1 which has been proven in combat for years.
 
Do you have the weights available?

Very hard to find the weight of the Hogue tubes. Kelly's Guns says that the weight of a carbine tube is .6lbs which is 9.6oz. They don't say if that includes the barrel nut or not but I did find a post where a fellow measured his midlength tube with barrel nut and it was 9.9oz vs 10.6oz for a DD M4 9.0. ht tp://1withabullet.wordpress.com/tag/hogue-free-float-tube/

DD M4 7.0 is 8.8oz, so it would appear the difference between the two is just under one ounce.

DD MFR 12.0 is 12.2oz, I've found reference to a Hogue rifle length being 14oz or so but I can't verify.
