Anyone know of where one could get a free float tube (rifle length) that fits under a standard AR hand guard giving you the the standard look with free float benefit?

They do exist, Brownells carries them:

A DPMS one: 739-000-003WB (SKU for brownells website) 99 bucks I think there's another company that makes em as well,

Obviously you'll need the tools to do a full barrel strip as the front sight base needs to come off, other than that it uses the standard barrel nut/delta ring and handguards.

Are you trying to maintain the classic look ? Cause there are a lot of plain FF tubes that I'd opt for instead.

Yes, that is the look I am looking for. I am the process of building an AR so the sky's the limit at this point. Price as always is the limiting factor.

Well, unless you are bench resting, or adding a bi-pod, (which could ruin the classic look), and are using some form of match grade heavy barrel, I honestly would not bother.
The amount of accuracy you'll gain won't really be perceived if you also plan to shoot it like a classic.

I'd just stick with the normal stock and mount, and if you're not happy with it, you can add the free float later.

I'm just talking here tho'. It all depends on what you plan to do with the machine when you're done.

I think I will take your advice. I am already looking at pricey build so the free float tube can wait.
